Top Trends: Do you know trending topics at the RSAC?
Throughout the event, most of the conferences and workshops focused on the topic of Threat Intelligence. During the talks, concepts like the use of technologies and algorithms (Machine Learning, Data Mining, Domain Learning) were addressed, which provide intelligence on the prevention and knowledge of cyber criminals’ modus operandi. Also frequently addressed were the new tools and services currently available on the market.
Visitors at our stand were able to experienced and lived how our CyberThreats service, through its cyberintelligence-supported holistic risk management model, covers all phases of the life cycle of a cyber threat.
In addition to Threat Intelligence, also addressed was the topic of collaboration between different organisations and companies, which, though market competitors, are working together and sharing knowledge in order to fight Cybercrime and APTs.
Christopher D. Young, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Intel Security Group, in discussing this aspect, pointed out the participation of ElevenPaths in the Cyber Threat Alliance, a group made up of leading global cybersecurity providers, and for sharing information about threats, motives, and cybercriminal tactics.
With the exponential growth of the number of hyper-connected machines featuring different technologies, there is no doubt that the way we live and work is changing, therefore necessitating the application of a specific security for the IoT environment.
At Telefónica and ElevenPaths, we presented this year our services that are applicable to this field of technology, such as FaasT IoT.
On the second day of the event, a panel comprised of Microsoft, Google and Adobe executives emphasized the topic of Privacy as one of the most extremely relevant aspects when adopting technology; cases such as the FBI x Apple, Ashley Madison, Sony and Target were ever present in all the talks and presentations.
On our side, at the Telefónica stand, we offered demos of our Metashield Protector, which protects document settings via metadata analysis, filtering and treatment.
The Cloud topic was once again present at the RSAC. The best way to guarantee information security and Privacy housed in company-external infrastructures was discussed in both debates and plenary sessions, accompanied by discussions regarding Big Data, Crowdsourced and Encryption use.
From here, we would like to hail and recognize the exceptional presence and collaboration with RSA, Palo Alto, Blue Coat, Fortinet, Logtrust y Blueliv for their impressive participation.
See you next year San Francisco!
