For those who still don’t know Latch, it is a security lock intended to protect users’ digital life. When a user wishes to access any of the applications added to the Latch dashboard, they must sign in and enable such access, so that the user can access the whished application. Over this webinar, the expert Álvaro Núñez-Romero will talk us about Latch Voice (an idea that arose during a Telefónica’s hackathon called Equinox), that consists in controlling digital locks from Latch through current virtual assistants such as Siri, Alexa or Google Assistant.

As currently there are domotics-oriented open-source projects providing an easy integration of the assistants previously mentioned, to carry out this project we have opted for creating a plug-in for the Home-Assistant project and going deeper into the necessary configuration to slide Latch’s digital locks through voice. Hey Siri! Turn Latch on!
