On 2nd November 2016, The DemonForums.net forum, used to spread hacking techniques, software modding, or the sale of stolen credentials, suffered a data leak, after both the platform’s source code and database dump were displayed on another similar platform.
Personal data of over 11,000 users of the affected web page could be used to provide the exact identification of the exposed profiles. Among the revealed fields containing source code, there was evidence of a shell web housed on the server, which could have been used to carry out this attack.
